NUBRIC donates to Cathedral schools to teach STEM class
NEW ULM — New Ulm Area Catholic Schools received a $4,800 donation from New Ulm Business Resource Innovation Center for science, technology, engineering and mathematics education.
NUACS is the latest school in the region to have teachers train in Project Lead the Way, a kindergarten through 12th grade STEM curriculum.
A goal of NUBRIC is to make New Ulm a Project Lead the Way community to give companies and industries an incentive to expand into the city.
Project Lead the Way is already part of St. Paul Lutheran School and is being taught to future teachers at Martin Luther College.
With this new grant, Cathedral will offer a class this coming semester to ninth- through 12-grade students called Computer Science Principals.
Cathedral teachers Chelsey Mason and Timothy Watts agreed to train in the Project Lead the Way Method.
