The New Ulm Human Rights Commission and the New Ulm Police Department are sponsoring free community training in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Recent community surveys have indicated the community could be more welcoming to newcomers. The four sessions, two this spring, and two this fall, will be hosted by the Greater Mankato Diversity Council.
The first session -- Implicit Bias -- will take place on Thursday, May 5, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the New Ulm Community Center, 600 N. German St.
The second session -- Diversity 101 -- will be a week later on Thursday, May 12, 6:30-8 p.m. at the New Ulm Community Center.
Sessions are eligible for CEU hours for police, educators, medical personnel, and childcare providers.
