POOL EGG-STRAVAGANZA Kids splish, splash for eggs

NEW ULM -- There was a scrambling for Easter eggs at the Aquatic Center pool Friday.
More than a hundred kids hopped into the pool to collect as many Easter eggs as possible. Each kid who turned in eggs were awarded three prizes.
The pool egg-stravaganza is an annual tradition held by New Ulm Park and Recreation. Recreation Program Supervisor Liz Malloy was not even sure how far back the tradition went. This year was a special because it was the first time the pool Easter egg hunt was held in the new aquatic facility. The kids attending the hunt also had a chance to meet the Easter Bunny, courtesy of the Students Performing on Tough Situations organization.
New Ulm Park and Recreation will be partnering with SPOTS on Saturday for the German Park Easter Egg Hop. Kids will be able to collect eggs in the park and have another chance to meet the Easter Bunny.
The Easter Egg Hop is from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday in German Park. The event will be moved to the Civic Center if weather prohibits an outdoor event.
