A request from the New Ulm Bicycle Group (NUBG) and Eagle Scout candidate Arik Goetz
to install wooden kiosks along the paved recreational trail was approved Monday by the Park and Recreation Board.
The kiosks would be located at Mueller Park and 2300 N. Broadway St.
Private donations are planned to cover the costs. Goetz is planning to create and install the kiosks for his Eagle Scout project.
The design is similar to existing kiosks in the park's system. They display printed postings of information on a bulletin board, which is covered with a roof to protect from weather elements.
NUBG is working with Park and Recreation Director Tim Schmitz and the Heart of New Ulm on local informational signage for the kiosks.
There are currently similar kiosks at the Dog Park and Harman Park.
