Nathaniel Carlovsky, a seventh-grader at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in New Ulm, finished in second place at the 2022 Regional Spelling Bee held on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at Mankato West High School. The competition included 21 school champions from around the area. Nathaniel spelled a total of 9 words correctly in the regional competition. The champion, Brielle Brown, of Maple River, qualified for the Scripps National Spelling Bee, held over Memorial Day weekend in Washington D.C.
