SLEEPY EYE — CherryRoad Media recently announced its acquisition of several rural Minnesota newspapers from Gannett Co. Inc. including the Sleepy Eye Herald-Dispatch, St. James Plaindealer, Redwood Gazette, Granite Falls Advocate-Tribune, and Montevideo American News.

The sale was announced in a front page story in this week’s Sleepy Eye Herald Dispatch.

The newspaper purchase, which is effective Jan. 1, 2022, also includes the Tri-County News of Cottonwood and the Crookston Daily Times.

Earlier this year, New Jersey-based CherryRoad Media founded the Rainy Lake Gazette in International Falls and bought the Cook County News-Herald in Grand Marias in 2020.
