NEW ULM — Berning Diesel Repair, LLC, 1218 Front St. N., New Ulm recently received a $10,000 Small Business Incentive Grant from the New Ulm Economic Development Authority.

Business owner Trevor Berning said he plans to use the grant to purchase diagnostic equipment for his business that provides reliable, affordable maintenance and repair services for diesel and gasoline semi, construction equipment, pickup trucks and automobiles.

“We specialize in Cummins diesel service but we’ll do service and maintenance work on other vehicles too,” Berning said.

“We’re pretty busy,” he added.

The business is dedicated to provide honest, superior work and support the local community.

An Eagle Grove, Iowa native, Berning studied diesel technology at Iowa Central Community College. He worked as a mobile service technician and lived in Winthrop before opening his New Ulm shop.

The business includes five employees. Hours are 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
