NEW ULM — The 2021 New Ulm Area Sport Fishermen Club registered 195 youth at Wednesday’s fishing contest in New Ulm.

The annual youth fishing contest was held in Riverside Park. Every youth who participated received a prize, but cash also awarded to those who caught the seven largest fish during the contest.

Seventh place went to Kaysen Gostonczik with a 3 lb. 6 oz. cat fish for $5

Sixth place went to Zach Fisher with a 3 lb. 8 oz. carp for $5.

Fifth went to Nolan Halling with a 3 lb. 13 oz. carp for $5.

Fourth was awarded to Tilken Fruhwirth with a 5 lb. 8 oz carp for $5.

Third place went to Amelia Sherrod with a 6 lb. carp for $10.

Second went to Logan Jewision with a 13.7 lb. carp for $20.

First went to Mason Sherrod with a 23 lb. 8 oz catfish for $50.

A total of 59 fish were registered during the event. The fish caught range from the catfish and carp to sheepheads and gar.
