SE firefighters called to Christensen Farms Thursday

SLEEPY EYE — The Sleepy Eye Fire Department was called to a fire at Christensen Farms east of Sleepy Eye at 1:53 p.m. Thursday.

“It was a reflash” (of the June 1 explosion that brought Sleepy Eye, Springfield, Comfrey and New Ulm Fire Departments to a grain storage silo),” said Sleepy Eye Fire Chief Ron Zinniel.

“We were there about two hours. We used about 10,000 gallons of water,” Zinniel said.

Nobody was hurt in the Thursday fire or June 1 explosion that blew off an elevator roof.
