Junior Achievement receives over $950

NEW ULM -- Junior Achievement is announcing that it received $956.40 from A to Zinnia and Hacker’s Garden Center to be used to fund JA programming in the area. Over Mother’s Day Weekend, both A to Zinnia and Hacker’s Garden Center donated $1 for every transaction to Junior Achievement. A to Zinnia donated $396.00, Hackers Garden Center donated $527.00, and two tip jars collected $33.40.
Funds will be used to cover the costs of materials and resources needed for JA programing throughout the New Ulm area. JA programming begins in kindergarten and continues through 12th grade, providing experiential learning opportunities about how the economy works, career skills, how to make good personal economic choices, and the role that business plays in people’s lives. During the 2020-2021 school year, JA is on track to reach over 3,800 students in the New Ulm area. Chelsey Mason, District Manager for Junior Achievement, stated, “The JA Board and I are truly thankful for our local partnerships. Junior Achievement can successfully teach our youth about financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work/career readiness because of businesses like A to Zinnia and Hacker’s Garden Center.”
