Brown County Heartland Express honored

NEW ULM — Brown County Heartland Express was recognized in a video by the Minnesota Public Transit Association for their efforts with increased cleaning and PPE and transporting essential workers or passengers on essential errands.

Transit systems helped people and served communities throughout the pandemic and continue to transport people safely. Brown County Heartland Express took many steps to increase cleaning and provide safe transit to their community. Some of these practices include mandatory face masks while riding public transit and encouraging social distancing.

The Brown County Board of Commissioners also extended free rides through August 31, 2021, to limit contact. More information on these practices can be found on their website here.

“We want to make sure that passengers can get to medical appointments, obtain food and get their essential needs covered. Only individuals free of any symptoms of illness should ride the bus. If you need supplies, but are feeling ill, please ask someone else to use this free ride offer to pick up supplies for you,” said Pat LaCourse, the Transit Manager.
