Commissioners consider U.S. Fish & Wildlife certification
For land In Section 34, Sigel Township
BROWN COUNTY — On Tuesday, Feb. 2, Brown County commissioners will consider certification of land in Section 34, Sigel Township which the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service recently secured an purchase agreement for from Gregory Mikkelson.
The property will be open open to the public and managed as a Waterfowl Production Area, as part of the National Wildlife Refuge System.
Commissioners will also consider:
• A $32,373 purchase of nine Panasonic Toughbooks for in-squad computer use and declare old data 911 in-squad computers as excess property for disposal. The Toughbooks accommodate the CIS mobile package, GeoLynx mobile GPS, mapping, e-citation and e-charging.
The purchased was approved by commissioner in the 2021 line item budget. Pricing is under Minnesota State contract pricing.
• A resolution for adoption of the Watonwan River Watershed Comprehensive Management Plan effective for 10 years until Dec. 17, 2030. The Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) approved the plan Dec. 17, 2020.
Partnerships and participants in the plan development process are to be commended for writing a plan that clearly presents water management goals, actions and priorities of the Partnership, and for participating in the One Watershed, One Plan Program, according to a Dec. 17 letter from BWSR.
• Setting 2021 spring road restrictions that usually begin in late February or early March. The State of Minnesota gives everyone three days notice before restrictions begin. Work done in 2020 improved road structure strength on several road segments. Proposed changes in spring restrictions are:
• CSAH 7 from TH 14 in Cobden to CSAH 13 in Evan to 10 ton.
• CSAH 8 from TH 68 to CSAH 29 to 10 ton.
• CSAH 8 from CSAH 30 to CSAH 10 to 10 ton.
• CSAH 10 from the south county line to CSAH 20 to 10 ton.
• CSAH 20 from CSAH 16 to CSAH 8 to 10 ton.
• CSAH 21 from the west county line to CSAH 3 to 10 ton.
• CSAH 22 from CSAH 8 to TH 4 to 10 ton.
