NEW ULM — The pre-schoolers at St. Paul’s Lutheran School enjoyed learning about the letter “O” and the ocean during the Ocean Beach Day Celebration.

Pre-school Director/Teacher Heidi Meyer said the Ocean Beach Day is an annual celebration. It is a way to forget the winter cold and celebrate in summer clothes.

Meyer said older siblings of the current pre-school kids usually remember this celebration. It is one of the best remembered pre-school events at St. Paul’s Lutheran.

The activity is intended to teach the kids about the letter “O” and “ocean” starts with the letter. The students are also learning about ocean life.

Meyer said last week the kids learned about “N” and this week they learned about narwhales. Since “O” is the theme, the octopus was another important creature. The students even made little craft octopi.

Starting at $4.50/week.
