Predatory sex offender moving to New Ulm

Alonzo

NEW ULM – A 29-year-old convicted Level Three predatory sex offender will be moving from Sleepy Eye to New Ulm on Thursday, Dec. 31, according to New Ulm Police.

Paul A. Alonzo will move to the 200 block of Franklin Street N., according to a notification fact sheet from the NUPD. Alonzo has a history of sexual contact with two known female teenagers.

In addition to level two notification of schools, day cares, establishments and organizations that primarily serve individuals likely to be victimized by the registrant, law enforcement may notify other community members whom the registrant is likely to encounter.

Alonzo has served his sentence and is transitioning into the community. He was released from custody July 5, 2018.

Police can not direct where Alonzo does or doesn’t live, work or go to school. Law enforcement believes an educated public is safer.

A public notification meeting will not be held.

Alonzo is white, five feet, seven inches tall, weights 180 pounds, has brown eyes and black hair.

Police remind people that it is unacceptable to threaten, harass or intimidate a registrant and such acts could be charged as a crime.
