GFW board meets Dec. 16

GIBBON — The Gibbon Fairfax Winthrop (GFW) School Board will have a special board meeting Wednesday, Dec. 16 to consider offers or counteroffers for the purchase of the former GFW Middle School building and property in Fairfax.

The meeting, livestreamed on the district’s Facebook site, begins at 6:30 p.m. in the elementary gym. It will recess to a closed session to consider property to be sold by the school board, then reconvene to open session to act on any action items related to the closed session.

SE City Council meets Dec. 17

SLEEPY EYE — The Sleepy Eye City Council will meet at noon, Thursday, Dec. 17 to consider a resolution to designate the 2021 polling place.

The resolution designates the Sleepy Eye Community Center, 115 2nd Ave. N.E. as the official 2021 polling place. The meeting will be held on Zoom.

The smallest Museum in Minnesota to

feature ‘Enchanted Castles of Europe’

NEW ULM — The smallest MUSEUM in Minnesota will feature “The Enchanted Castles of Europe” Series, by Danbury Mint, a collection of Terry and Ellie Sveine. The Opening will be held Friday, Dec. 18 from 5 to 6 p.m. in front of The Grand. The Grand will also share a Facebook live stream at 5:15 p.m. for viewers to hear more about the exhibit.

The exhibit will run from Dec. 18 until February and showcases nine different castles in Europe, including Mont Saint-Michel from France, Neuschwanstein from Germany and Karlstejn Castle from The Czech Republic.

Holiday operations for Heartland Express

BROWN COUNTY — Heartland Express announces its operations schedule for the holiday season.

Christmas: Brown County Heartland Express will be shutting down at noon on Thursday Dec. 24, Christmas Eve. It will be closed all day on Friday, Dec, 25, Christmas Day, as well as Sunday December 27. All rides for Monda, Dec. 28 need to be scheduled before noon on Dec. 24. Call our office at 507-359-2717, or 800-707-2717.

New Year’s: Brown County Heartland Express will be closed on Friday, Jan. 1, and Sunday, Jan. 3. If you need a ride for Monday, Jan. 4, call the office by 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31 at 507-359-2717 or 800-707-2717.
