SLEEPY EYE -- Firefighters were called to a kitchen stove fire in an apartment at 601 1st Avenue North at 2:27 p.m. Sunday.
Sleepy Eye Fire Chief Ron Zinniel said the fire was contained to the stove top where oil caught fire. Fans were used to ventilate smoke from the apartment. Nobody was hurt and there was no damage. Firefighters were on the scene for about 30 minutes.
