Before joining the Senate in 2010, Dahms owned and operated Dahms Insurance Company for 26 years. When he is not working at the capitol in St. Paul, Dahms lives in Redwood Falls with his wife of 46 years, Barb. He has two grown children, Michelle and Michael, and two grandchildren.
