MANKATO — On Saturday, February 22, the Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School (MVL) speech team competed at the Mankato East Fiesta Speech Tournament in Mankato.

In the novice division, Gracen Lukasek took fifth place in Poetry. Andy Muske and Nick Pleiss placed 1st in Duo Interpretation.

In the varsity division, Michael Bovee placed 5th in the Informative category. Maida Jaspersen won first place in Extemporaneous Reading and Emma Niebuhr took 3rd place in that same category. Nicole Schumann and Emma Niebuhr placed 7th in Duo Interpretation. Morgan Glowicki received Honorable Mention in Storytelling and Nicole Schumann received Honorable Mention in Prose.

The team competes again on February 29 at the Medford Speech Tournament.
