Peterson endorses Feehan for U.S. Congress

ST. PAUL — Minnesota’s 7th Congressman Collin Peterson has endorsed Dan Feehan’s campaign for Congress.

Peterson is the most senior member of the House Committee on Agriculture and currently serves as its chairman.

“I’m proud to endorse Dan Feehan’s campaign in Minnesota’s First Congressional District and I look forward to serving alongside him Congress,” Peterson said. “Dan has committed himself to understanding the issues facing our farmers and rural communities, and I’m confident that he’ll be a champion of these issues in Congress and on the Agriculture Committee.”

“Congressman Peterson is a national leader on agriculture who has always put our farmers and rural communities first,” Feehan said. “I am honored to have his endorsement and I hope to work with to grow and build resilience in our agricultural economy.”

Feehan grew up north of Rochester. From 2005 to 2009, he served as an active-duty soldier and completed two combat tours of duty as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Feehan earned the Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal with Valor and the Ranger Tab.

At home, he served as a middle school math teacher. Later he became an acting assistant secretary of defense in the Pentagon.

Feehan was the 2018 Democratic candidate for Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House. He lost narrowly lost the election to Republican Jim Hagedorn by 1,315 votes.
