NUMC gala focuses on gratitude

NEW ULM--The 17th annual New Ulm Medical Center Foundation Gala was held Saturday at the New Ulm Event Center.
Around 250 guest attended this year's gala. The theme of this year's gala was "Grateful." Everyone attending was encouraged to share their positives stories about caregivers and those who were helped during times of great need.
There was another theme of keeping health care close to home. This was related to the addition of the Springfield and Lamberton clinics into the Allina Health Care system. This helps expand on NUMC's already impressive rural healthcare system.
NUMC Foundation Executive Director Missy Dreckman said the medical center now has over 20 specializations.
"We have everything from birth to end-of-life planing," she said.
Proceeds from the gala benefit the Fund for Excellence which impacts all of these programs.
Dreckman said in 2019 donations to NUMC exceeded expectation, reaching $515,285.
