NEW ULM — Keegan Witte was born 3:07 p.m. Jan. 2, weighing 9 lbs., 5 oz, at the New Ulm Medical Center, making him the first baby born at NUMC this year.

His parents are Kim Mindell and Shawn Witte. This is their first child. The couple was not expecting to have the New Year’s birthday because Keegan’s original due date was Dec. 22.

On Jan. 1 Mindell was induced and Keegan would ultimately be born through emergency C-Section. He spent his first few weeks at the Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, but was released Wednesday, Jan. 15. Both Keegan and his mother are in fine health.
