NEW ULM — Turner Hall will receive a $5,000 seed grant from the Clean Energy Resource Teams (CERTs) to cover the cost of electrical upgrades in the gym.

The award is one of 35 grants given to innovative renewable energy and energy efficient project in Minnesota. The grant will allow Turner Hall to put LED lights in the gym and replace the breaker box with appropriate lighting infrastructure that is both safer and more energy efficient.

The facility currently uses an outdated breaker box to turn the lights off and on in the gym.

“We’re very excited to learn about the grand award,” Turner Hall Executive Director Andrea Boettger said. “We can’t wait to get started on our project.”
