The accident involved a 2005 Ford Five Hundred driven by Besemer and a 2003 Ford Windstar driven by Salazar-Lozano.

Besemer was driving alone while the rest of the people involved were riding with Salazar-Lozano.

The State Patrol said the accident happened as the Five Hundred was traveling south on Brown County Road 10. The Windstar was traveling west on Highway 14. The Five Hundred failed to stop at the stop sign prior to crossing Highway 14. The vehicles collided in a broadside crash.

The State Patrol said that alcohol was involved in Besemer’s case. The State Patrol also said Alvarado De Leon was not wearing a seat belt.

The State Patrol was assisted by Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Allina Ambulance, and Sleepy Eye Fire and Ambulance.
