NEW ULM — J&R Schugel Trucking, Inc., a transportation services company with headquarters in New Ulm, acquired Super Service, LLC. in June 2018. The official merge of the two companies is set to be completed on April 1, 2019.

J&R Schugel has combined Super Service into their 100-percent employee owned company. For all eligible drivers and non-driving employees, shares in J&R Schugel will be allocated each year. J&R Schugel has already completed the replacement of the majority of the 500 trucks and now operates a fleet of over 1,000 trucks and 2,250 trailers.

Super Service has facilities in Grand Rapids, Mich.; Somerset, Ky.; Ellenwood, Ga. & Lakeland, Fla. Both carriers offer nationwide transportation and logistics services and are eager to expand services for shared customers allowing more opportunities for drivers.

Prior to the merger, J&R Schugel operated 500 power units and employed 150 office/shop personnel at their facilities; with the completion of the merge the company will have doubled in size.
