CITY OF NEW ULM, BROWN COUNTY, MINNESOTA
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6 OF THE NEW ULM CITY CODE REGARDING ICE AND SNOW REMOVAL REQUIREMENTS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW ULM:
SECTION 1. Chapter 6, Section 6.01 of the City of New Ulm City Code is hereby amended as follows
Section 6.01 Ice And Snow On Public Sidewalks
SUBDIVISIONS:
1. Ice and snow a nuisance. All snow and ice remaining upon public sidewalks is hereby declared to constitute a public nuisance and shall be removed for the entire width (edge to edge) of all public sidewalks, including all extensions of the sidewalk to the street and/or other areas constructed to facilitate pedestrian street crossings, by the owner(s), occupant(s), or persons having the care, custody, and control of the abutting private property, within 12 hours after such snow or ice has ceased to be deposited. This requirement likewise applies to every owner or tenant of property whose boundary is 20 feet or less from any street if the parcel or strip that separates the property from the street is owned by the City. In addition to other remedies provided by this section, violation of this subdivision shall be a petty misdemeanor.

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and shall be in force thirty (30) days from and after its adoption, approval, and publication.
