NOTICE is hereby
given that Heartland
Energy, on behalf of
New Ulm Public Utili-
ties, is requesting writ-
ten comments from the
Customers of New Ulm
Public Utilities’ munici-
pal electric system.
Comments can relate
to:
– Current electric con-
servation measures
that are being used in
the city of New Ulm
– Both power supply
and energy conserva-
tion options for meeting
the future electric
needs of New Ulm, in-
cluding but not limited
to:
– Preferred generation
resources/fuel types
– Use of demand side
resources including
load management and
time-based rates
– Relative importance
of outcomes (cost, reli-
ability, environmental
impacts, etc.)
– Offer ideas and pro-
mote the efficient use
of electricity in New
Ulm
This public solicitation
for written comments is
being conducted to
comply with a federal
regulation, which re-
qires New Ulm, Public
Utilities to seek public
participatin regarding
the implementation of
an integrated Resource
Plan (IRP). Comments
will be considered in
the development of the
IRP. New Ulm Public
Utilities must adopt an
IRP in order to contin-
ue to receive its alloca-
tion of electric hydro-
power from Western
Area Power Adminis-
tration. Hearland Ener-
gy, one of New Ulm’s
power suppliers, is as-
sisting with this project
and will accept com-
ments for 10 days fol-
lowing this notice.

Township of Cotton-
wood Seeking Quotes
The Cottonwood
Township Board is
seeking quotes for sup-
plying, crushing, load-
ing and hauling 1,500
tons (more or less) of
crushed class 5 gravel.
The gravel must meet
DOT specifications for
crushed gravel. The
contractor must have
sufficient equipment to
place the gravel on the
township roads in no
more than 10 consecu-
tive working days. Be-
fore starting, the con-
tractor shall notify the
Supervisors and supply
a gradation report. The
work must be complet-
ed no later than June
30, 2024. Contractor
shall indicate location
of pit the gravel will
come from. All loads
shall be weighed and
weight slips shall be
turned over to the
township when pay-
ment is requested.
Certificate of insurance
must be included with
quote. Quotes must be
marked as a quote on
the outside and re-
ceived by the Town-
ship Clerk prior to the
April regular meeting,
which will be held
Tuesday, April 9, 2024,
at 6:00 pm. If there are
