Summary: Ordinance
No. 2023-071 amends
Appendix A of the New
Ulm City Code, the
Zoning Ordinance of
the City of New Ulm,
by establishing new
development standards
in the I-2 (General In-
dustrial) zoning district
to apply to lots under
16,000 square feet in
size; revising
use-specific standards
for certain
automotive-related
businesses like auto
repair shops, body
shops, car dealerships,
machinery and truck
repair and sales, and
truck or freight terminal
uses, including a new
requirement that a site
plan for each business
be submitted and ap-
proved by the City’s
Community Develop-
ment Department;
amending the
remedies and penalties
section to authorize the
City’s Community
Development Depart-
ment to enforce the
zoning ordinance and
abate violations thereof
as a public nuisance;
and adding a new de-
finition of the term
“Inoperable or Junk
Vehicles”.
