NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that the Brown County Planning Commission, in and for the County of Brown, will conduct certain public hearings as follows:

Preliminary Plat Application APP-P-0128

Application filed by Alison Stadick on the property owned by Alison Stadick known as Alison Acres Subdivision Lot 1(6.75 Acres) and Lot 2 (3.26 Acres) on the property described as part of the NW 1/4 and part of the NE 1/4 , Section 11, Township 110 North, Range 31 West, Milford Township , Brown County, Minnesota. Application is to split into 2 parcels, all located in the A-1 Agricultural Protection Zoning District.

Notice is further given that the above hearings will be held by the Brown County Planning Commission on Tuesday, March 14th, 2023 beginning at 9:00 AM in the Brown County Courthouse Room #204, New Ulm, Minnesota at which time you may appear if you so desire, either in person or by agent or attorney, in opposition to or support of the proposed Plat or Conditional Use Permits. Hearings of these appeals are not limited to those receiving copies of this Notice, and if you know of any neighbor or affected property owner who, for any reason, has not received a copy, it would be appreciated if you would inform them of this public hearing. A copy of each proposed request is on file in the Brown County Planning & Zoning Office, Brown County Courthouse, 14 South State Street, New Ulm, Minnesota, and may be viewed during regular business hours. If you have any concerns over the proposed use of the property, then please submit your input either in person or in writing to the Planning Commission.

Notice of Annual Meeting for Courtland township.

Notice is hereby given to the residents of Courtland township, County of Nicollet,State of Minnesota that the annual Courtland Township meeting will be held on Tuesday March 14 2023 at 2:00pm at the Courtland Community Center 300 railroad st. Courtland MN ( in case of inclement weather the meeting may be postponed until the third Tuesday in March) Discussed at the meeting will be township roads, new fire truck and all other township business prescribed by law.

ORDINANCE NO. 2023-070

CITY OF NEW ULM, BROWN COUNTY, MINNESOTA

AN ORDINANCE AMENDINGSECTION 8.21 OF THE NEW ULM CITY CODE REGULATING CATS AND DOGS AND REQUIRING LICENSES TO KEEP DOGS

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW ULM:

SECTION 1. That Chapter 8: Public Protection, Section 8.21, Dog and cat regulation and licensing, Subdivisions 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the City Code of the City of New Ulm are hereby repealed in their entirety.

SECTION 2. That Chapter 8: Public Protection, Section 8.21, Dog and cat regulation and licensing, Subdivision 6, Impounding and disposition, is hereby amended as follows:

Subd. 6. Impounding and disposition. Any dog or cat running at large within the City, shall be subject to seizure and impounding. Any dog or cat so seized shall be turned over to the Animal Control Officer of the City within 24 hours. Every impounded dog and cat shall be retained by the Animal Control Officer for a period of at least 5 regular business days, and if unclaimed, such dog or cat may be destroyed and the carcass disposed of. If the animal is destroyed then it must be done in a humane fashion. In the alternative the Animal Control Officer may transfer the animal to the Brown County Humane Society or similar organization, provided that organization is willing to accept the animal. The Animal Control Officer shall keep a record for a period of 6 months of the following information as to each impounded dog or cat:

SECTION 3. That Chapter 8: Public Protection, Section 8.21, Dog and cat regulation and licensing, Subdivision 7, Release from dog pound, is hereby amended as follows:

Subd. 7. Release from dog pound. Dogs shall be released to their owners, or persons previously in possession of them, the payment of an impound fee and maintenance cost in such amounts as determined by ordinance or resolution of the City Council. Cats that are unclaimed within the time period allowed by this section may be sold to a person, not the owner of said cat, for a fee to be determined by ordinance or resolution of the City Council.

SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and shall be in force thirty (30) days from and after its adoption, approval, and publication.
