ASSESSMENT NOTICE

This may affect your 2023 property taxes.

The Open Book Meeting for the Township of Cambria in Blue Earth County, Minnesota will meet at the Blue Earth Co. Property & Environmental Resources Office at 9:00AM, Monday-Friday the 18th-22nd of April 2022. The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor.

If you believe the value or classification of your property is incorrect, please contact your assessor’s office to discuss your assessor, you may appear before the County Board of Appeal and Equalization. The board will review your assessments and may make corrections as needed.

ORDINANCE NO. 22- 051, FIFTH SERIES

CITY OF NEW ULM, BROWN COUNTY, MINNESOTA

AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1. 50 OF THE CITY CODE OF

THE CITY OF NEW ULM RELATIVE TO WARD AND PRECINCT BOUNDARIES.

PREAMBLE:

WHEREAS, the New Ulm City Council has previously enacted Ordinance No. 22- 050, Fifth Series, amending Section 1. 50 of the City Code of the New Ulm relative to ward and precinct boundaries.

WHEREAS, the ward and precinct boundaries established by Ordinance No. 22- 050, Fifth Series, do not accurately establish ward and precinct lines that are consistent with the results of the most recent census of the population of the city of New Ulm.

WHEREAS, the City of New Ulm must complete its redistricting and establishment of ward and precinct boundaries prior to March 29, 2022.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of New Ulm has determined that an emergency ordinance, as provided for in Section 67 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of New Ulm, Minnesota, is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety, and further that the emergency presented is the need to establish ward and precinct boundaries so as to comply with state and federal voter laws, and to allow for the lawful voting by the citizens of New Ulm in future elections.

WHEREAS, the determination of this emergency as provided for in Section 67 of the City Charter has been separately voted upon and agreed to by at least three members of the New Ulm City Council, as recorded by ayes and nays.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW ULM:

SECTION I. Section 1 . 50 of the City Code of the City of New Ulm is hereby amended to read as follows:

Section 1. 50. Ward and precinct boundaries. There shall be four wards within the City, each divided into two precincts, as follows. Each parcel of property hereafter annexed by the City shall automatically be assigned to the ward and precinct adjacent to that parcel. In the event that the parcel is adjacent to more than one precinct, the City Finance Director shall have authority to assign the parcel to a specific ward and precinct to which it is adjacent. A map of the wards and precincts of the City, current as of January 1 , 2022, is attached hereto.

Subdivision 1. First Ward: Beginning at the intersection of the centerlines of 4th North

Street and Jefferson Street; then east along the centerline of 4th North Street to the centerline of Broadway; then southerly along the centerline of Broadway to the intersection of the centerline of 3rd North Street; then easterly along the centerline of 3rd North Street to the northerly corporate limits of the City; then in a generally southerly and easterly direction along said corporate limits to the centerline of Trunk Highway 15, being also called Broadway, then north along the centerline of Broadway to the centerline of 13th South Street; then westerly along the centerline of 13th South Street, to the centerline of Washington Street; then northerly along the centerline of Washington Street to the centerline of 6th South Street; then westerly along the centerline of 6th South Street to the centerline of Franklin Street; then northerly along the centerline of Franklin Street to the centerline of Center Street; then westerly along the centerline of Center Street to the centerline of Jefferson Street; then northerly along the centerline of Jefferson Street to the point of beginning.

A. First Ward – First Precinct: Beginning at the intersection of the centerlines of Minnesota Street and 3rd North Street; then easterly along 3rd North Street to the northerly corporate limits of the City; then southerly and easterly along said corporate limits to the centerline of Trunk Highway 15, being also called Broadway; then northerly along the centerline of Broadway to the centerline of 8th South Street; then easterly along the centerline of 8th South Street to the centerline of Minnesota Street; then northerly along the centerline of Minnesota Street to the point of beginning.

B. First Ward – Second Precinct: Beginning at the intersection of the centerlines of Jefferson Street and 4th North Street; then easterly along the centerline of 4th North Street to the centerline of Broadway; then southerly along the centerline of Broadway to the centerline of 3rd North Street; then easterly on the centerline of 3rd North Street to the centerline of Minnesota Street; then southerly along the centerline of Minnesota Street to the centerline of 8th South Street; then westerly along the centerline of 8th South Street to the centerline of Broadway; then southerly along the centerline of

Broadway to the centerline of 13th South Street; then westerly along the centerline of 13th South Street, to the centerline of Washington Street; then northerly along the centerline of Washington Street to the centerline of 7th South Street; then westerly on the centerline of 7th South Street to the centerline of Franklin Street; then norther on the centerline of Franklin Street to the centerline of Center Street; then westerly on the centerline of Center Street to the centerline of Jefferson Street; then northerly along the center line of Jefferson Street to the point of beginning.

Subd. 2. Second Ward: Beginning at the intersection of the centerlines of 4th North

Street and Jefferson Street; then northerly along the centerline of Jefferson Street to the

centerline of 10th North Street; then westerly along the centerline of 10th North Street to the centerline of Payne Street; then northerly along the centerline of Payne Street to the centerline of 17th North Street; then westerly along the centerline of 17th North Street to the centerline of Garden Street; then northerly along the centerline of Garden Street to the centerline of Broadway; then northerly along the centerline of Broadway to the westerly corporate limits of the City; then northerly along the westerly corporate limits of the City of New Ulm to the intersection of the westerly corporate limits line with the southerly bank of the Minnesota River; then easterly along the northerly corporate limits of the City to the intersection of said corporate limits and the centerline of 3rd North Street; then westerly along the centerline of 3rd North Street to the intersection of the centerline of Broadway; then northerly along the centerline of Broadway to the intersection with the centerline of 4th North Street; then westerly along the centerline of 4th North Street to the

point of beginning.

North Street and Jefferson Street; then northerly along the centerline of Jefferson Street to the intersection with the centerline of 10th North Street; then easterly along the

centerline of 10th North Street to the centerline of Payne Street; then northerly along the centerline of Payne Street to the centerline of 16th North Street; then easterly along the centerline of 16th North Street to the centerline of Minnesota Street; then southerly along the centerline of Minnesota Street to the centerline of 3rd North Street; then westerly along the centerline of 3rd North Street to the centerline of Broadway; then northerly along the centerline of Broadway to the centerline of 4th North Street; then westerly along the centerline of 4th North Street to the point of beginning.

B. Second Ward – Second Precinct: Beginning at the intersection of the centerlines of 3rd North Street and Minnesota Street; then northerly along the centerline of Minnesota

Street to the centerline of 16th North Street; then westerly along the centerline of 16th North Street to the centerline of Payne Street; then northerly along the centerline of Payne Street to the centerline of 17th North Street; then westerly along the centerline of 17th North Street to the centerline of Garden Street; then northerly along the centerline of Garden Street to the centerline of Broadway; then northerly along the centerline of Broadway to the westerly corporate limits of the City; then northerly along the westerly corporate limits of the City to the south bank of the Minnesota River; then easterly along the northerly corporate limits of the City to the intersection with the centerline of 3rd North Street; then westerly along the centerline of 3rd North Street to the point of beginning.

SECTION II. That this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval.
