ORDINANCE NO. 2021-041, FIFTH SERIES

CITY OF NEW ULM, BROWN COUNTY, MINNESOTA

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3.28 OF THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF NEW ULM RELATIVE TO THE ENGERY AWARENESS COMMISSION.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW ULM:

SECTION I. That Section 3.28 of the City Code of the City of New Ulm is hereby amended to read as follows:

Section 3.28. Energy Awareness Commission. The Energy Awareness Commission shall consist of five voting members and, in addition, the Public Utilities Commission’s Energy Coordinator as an ex officio member. The commission shall serve in an advisory capacity to the Mayor, City Council, Public Utilities Commission, and City staff, and shall have the following purposes and functions; to establish an energy policy for the City; to assist City government in implementing mandatory and voluntary programs to save energy and money; to disseminate and encourage the utilization of information regarding conservation and alternative sources of energy by the residential and commercial community; to develop new ideas and identify concerns for action by the Minnesota Department of Public Service; and to develop local solutions to local energy problems.

SECTION II. That this ordinance shall take effect and shall be in force 30 days from and after its adoption, approval, and publication.
