Court proceedings

Brown County District Court

• Olivia Joy Michelle Finden, 30, was charged with gross misdemeanor theft Jan.26. According to court documents, New Ulm Police responded to a theft report at Menard’s at 5:48 p.m. Jan. 14.

The store general manager said that about 4:08 p.m., a woman, later identified as Finden, walked through several aisles and placed rolls of wire in her purse and placed other items in her shopping cart. Finden entered a rest room with the rolls of wire, exited the restroom and bought the remaining items in the shopping cart.

The store general manager stopped her while she was leaving the store and asked to check her purse for merchandise. Finden refused and left the building.

The general manager inventoried wire and found 10 individual wire rolls were missing. A female store associate checked the restroom and did not find any missing wire rolls. The general manager determined Finden took $532.48 worth of merchandise.
