• Gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation-inimical to public safety and petty misdemeanor speeding charges were filed Sept. 14, 2023 against Kevin D. Nygaard, 59, Fairmont.

According to court documents, Minnesota State Patrol tropper Matthew Roiger was eastbound on Brown CR 29 near 195th Avenue at 3:02 p.m. Sept. 13, 2023 when he saw a white pickup traveling westbound at a high rate of speed. Roiger’s radar antenna locked the vehicle’s speed at 66 mph in a 55 mph zone. Roiger stopped the suspect vehicle and identified the driver as Nygaard who said he had no driver’s license.

Roiger learned there was an arrest warrant for Nygaard since April 5, 2022 and his driving status was cancelled-inimical to public safety. Nygaard was arrested.
