• Two gross misdemeanor domestic assault charges were filed July 13, 2023 against Rocio M. Mireles, 25, 200 Riverside Dr., Springfield. According to court documents, Sleepy Eye Police officers Ostermann and Waterbury responded to a fight at Eagles Park in Sleepy Eye at 9:24 p.m. July 10, 2023. A witness and alleged victim said there was a third party on the other side of the vehicle.

A woman said her girlfriend, later identified as Mireles, attacked her, grabbing her by the hair. Officer Waterbury saw the victim’s right eye was a little swollen and red with a small cut above it. The victim said Mireles bit her and showed two bite marks, one on her left forearm and the other on the left shoulder.

Mireles was convicted of a domestic abuse no contact order on July 30, 2021 in Brown County Court.
