SPRINGFIELD — A 52-year-old North Mankato man died on a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 14 and CR 4 (Range Road) at 3:47 p.m. Saturday. Jeffrey John Bentdahl of North Mankato was driving a 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle without a helmet, eastbound on Highway 14 when he collided with a 2026 Chevrolet Equinox driven southbound on CR 4 by Leann Marie Jensen, 63, Springfield. Jensen was not injured. The Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Springfield Police and Ambulance assisted.

GIBBON — A 54-year-old man died after being struck by a truck on County Road 2 just south of Gibbon early Friday morning. The Sibley County Sheriff’s Office responded to a person being hit by a vehicle at 2:36 a.m. Friday. Dino John Bastian, 54, Gibbon, was walking south on the road when he was struck by a 2016 Chevy Colorado driven by Timothy Jon Ahlbrecht and died, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
