Divine Providence Community Home held it Red, White & Blue Parade on Friday, with Miss Sleepy Eye royalty, South Point Financial Credit Union representatives, a host of community friends, including decorated and dressed pets, along with wagons, strollers and bikes to parade past Divine Providence grandfriends in the home’s North Courtyard area.

The Parade's Grand Marshal, Aut Seidl, escorted by special 2022 Princess Presley Bauer, 2022 Miss Sleepy Eye Katelyn Rutscher and 2022 Princess Natalie Marti, kicked off the community's Fourth of July celebration.

The evented ended with patriotic treat bags and snacks provided to parade participants by DPCH, South Point Financial Credit Union and Schutz Family Foods.

"It makes our grandfriends grin,” said Donna Sellner DPCH Dietary Manager. “I saw some of our non-talkative grandfriends not only smile but try to say things in response to young children who paraded by them."

Grandfriend Bernice Sturm added, "The parade was so good. They went all out for us!"
