The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that Windings has been named Large Business of the Year, and KNUJ has been named the Small Business of the Year.
An awards banquet to celebrate this distinction will be held on Tuesday, June 21 at the Best Western Plus Conference Center.
Windings was established in New Ulm in 1965 and has continued to grow. It now operates a production space of 75,000 square feet. In 2008 the company became 100-percent employee owned.
KNUJ AM 860 went on the air May 22,1949. The radio station was originally owned by the same company that owned the New Ulm Journal, hence the call letters KNUJ. The station operates at 317 N. Minnesota next to the Glockenspiel and is owned by Ingstad Media. The company also operates Tower Storage and KNUJ Trips and Tours.
The 2022 Business of the Year Banquet will be held at the Best Western Plus Conference Center Tuesday, June 21. Social hour begins at 5:30, with dinner served at 6:15 and a program to follow. Tickets are $35 and are available through Monday, June 13. They are sold at the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce office at 1 N. Minnesota St. or online at newulm.com.
