The Prairie Fire Children's Theatre is holding auditions to perform the original musical adaptation of Sleeping Beauty.
Auditions will be held Monday, May 30, and Tuesday, May 31, at 1 p.m. at the Sleepy Eye High School Auditorium.
Up to 74 local young people are needed to play cast roles and crew members.
Auditions are open to anyone age 7 and older. Two people will be needed as technicians to run the sound and lights starting Wednesday.
No preparation is necessary to audition. A portion of the cast will be required to stay following auditions for a short rehearsal.
Rehearsals will be held from 1 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. the remainder of the week, with performances scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 3, and 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, in the Sleepy Eye High School Auditorium.
Tickets for the performance will be available at the door.
Two professional actors/directors from Prairie Fire Children's Theatre's Staff will direct the production and play the roles of the bumbling Hypnotist, and The Queen Diva of all Stage Mothers. This Prairie Fire Theatre residency is being sponsored by Sleepy Eye Community Education.
