State Street Theater is seeking cast and crew members for its production of the classic tale “Peter Pan,” with everyone’s favorite characters Wendy, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell and Captain Hook.

Cast auditions will take place on Saturday, May 14, and Sunday, May, 15, from 3-5 p.m.

The theater is also looking for crew members to help with costumes, tech, backstage crew, stage manager, front of house help, makeup and painting.

Based on J.M. Barrie’s classic tale and featuring an unforgettable score by Morris “Moose” Charlap and Jule Styne with lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, Betty Comden, and Adolph Green, Peter Pan begins when Peter and his mischievous fairy sidekick, Tinkerbell, visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night and, with a sprinkle of pixie dust, begin a magical journey across the stars that none of them will ever forget.

In the adventure of a lifetime, the travelers come face to face with a ticking crocodile, a band of bungling pirates and, of course, the villainous Captain Hook.

There are a variety of roles available, and actors and actresses of all ages are welcome to audition, including children.

First-time actors are strongly encouraged and welcome. Auditions will be a cold read from the script and singing.

Open auditions at the State Street Theater Co., 1 N. State Street, enter at Washington Street parking lot, backstage door. Patrons are reminded not to park in the lot behind the Emerson-Union apartments.

Rehearsals will take place from May through July.

Performances will be held Friday through Sunday, July 8-10.
