Jefferson students visit Ridgeway residents

Submitted photo Louis Fromm and Elyse Lentz enjoy playing bingo together during the Jefferson Elementary School visit to Ridgeway.

NEW ULM — Mrs. Mack’s 4th grade class AND Mrs. Brooks’s 1st grade class from Jefferson Elementary School are visiting Ridgeway residents for the third year in a row to play bingo, cards, and read to the residents.

The residents enjoy listening to the students read and love interacting with them during bingo and cards. Jefferson students love visiting and asking the residents questions about how life was like for them when they were 9 and 10 years old.

“It’s fun watching the kids’ facial expressions when they hear the residents talk about going to country school, helping out at home with chores and what activities and games they played.” Mrs. Mack said. “The residents eyes just light up when the kids sit down to read or visit with them, it really brings them joy.”
