Field tour on diversifying agroecosystem

LAMBERTON — A field tour on “Diversifying the Agroecosystem” will be held Sept. 14 and hosted by the Southwest Research and Outreach Center, 23669 130th Street.

The event, which is free and does not registration, will begin at the center at 8:30 a.m., with the field tour starting at 9 a.m.

Speakers will discuss a variety of topics including:

•Organic crop and vegetable research results

•Summer cover crop varieties

•Interseeding methods and timing of cover crops

•Research on alternative cash crops such as intermediate wheatgrass varieties, East African greens, hazelnuts and hemp

•Soil management for high tunnel vegetables

•Results from integrated crop?livestock farming studies

•Bacterial inoculation to enhance corn and small grain production

•Honeybee management
