Off the Shelf

Holiday stories are in high demand in the library this time of year. If you crave a festive story–or are missing seasonal snow–check out this list of festive books available in the library published in or after 2022.

“Wreck the Halls” by Tessa Bailey–A “daughter of music royalty discovers a decades-old scandal that threatens to ruin everything.”

“Bright Lights, Big Christmas: a novel” by Susan Mallery–When Kerry moves back home to her family’s Christmas tree farm in North Carolina, she is guilt tripped into helping her brother sell trees in New York City.”

“The Wake-up Call” by Beth O’Leary–This “hotel won’t stay afloat beyond Christmas without some sort of miracle.”

“Midnight at the Christmas Bookshop: a novel” by Jenny Colgan–“An American production company has decided that McCredie’s little Old Town bookshop is the perfect location to film a very cheesy Christmas movie.”

“T’was the Bite Before Christmas” by David Rosenfelt–It’s time for the annual Christmas party for the dog rescue organization but “before the stockings can be hung by the chimney with care, homicide detectives ruin the evening.”

“A December to Remember: a novel” by Jenny Bayliss–“Three estranged women are unexpectedly reunited at the reading of their father’s will.”

“A Christmas Memory” by Richard Paul Evans–There are several wonderful books by this author in the New Ulm Public Library collection.

“Santa & Company” by Fern Michaels–A holiday get together at a fabulous ski lodge! “Crisp snow and fresh air by day, cozy fires and delicious food by night, capped off by meeting up with their significant others for a New Year’s Eve celebration [seems] perfect.”

“The Book Club Hotel” by Sarah Morgan–In my opinion, a book club hotel would be fabulous any time of the year!

“Falling Stars” by Fern Michaels–“Snow is Emily’s element, so she doesn’t hesitate when a new client asks her to train him to ski The Plunge, one of Colorado’s most treacherous runs.”

“A Wish for Winter” by Viola Shipman–“Now a successful bookstore owner in a tight-knit Michigan lakeside community, Susan is facing down forty–the same age as her mother when she died–and she can’t help but see everything she has not achieved.”
