Minnesota Brain Injury Force Receives

Feed the Children Donations

Minnesota Brain Injury Force, Inc. (MNBIF) has received donations from Feed the Children, Inc. MNBIF received four pallets in October of 2020 and five pallets in January of 2021. The pallets included cleaning and office supplies, blenders, student chairs and miscellaneous items. Thanks to D & A Trucking of New Ulm, who donated their resources to haul the pallets from Plymouth to their New Ulm loading dock.

In 2017 MN Brain Injury Force, Inc. applied and was approved as a partner agency of Feed the Children.

MNBIF has the responsibility to either use these donations for the continued support of stroke / brain injury survivors or to disperse items to survivors, schools, churches or businesses with which MNBIF has a collaborate relationship. MN Brain Injury Force and their volunteers or survivors and area students using the chairs are very grateful to Feed the Children!

How donated items are being dispersed:

MN Brain Injury Force decided to share the Feed the Children donated items with “Good Samaritan” Survivors / Volunteers and to the places who have been helping us with our MNBIF mission for many years.

•St. Paul’s Lutheran School received 36 new blue student chairs. Blue is one of the school’s colors! These chairs were needed and appreciated by the school.

•MN Valley Lutheran High School (MVL) received an electric stapler and cleaning supplies. MVL has donated used office equipment to MNBIF and this has helped with our mission.

•Henderson Healing Hub (HHH) in Henderson, MN has organized a “Chance 2 Dance!” MNBIF event and continues to support MNBIF’s mission to help area stroke / brain injury survivors!

•Richard is a brain injured veteran. His wife Adolia is also a traumatic brain injury (TBI) survivor. Adolia has helped for years at the MNBIF office, assists in the solicitation of donations for MNBIF and assists at Brain Bash events. Adolia also manages survivor support meetings.

•Marcia is also a TBI survivor. She and her husband volunteer at the MNBIF office and assist at Brain Bash events. These special people manage a survivor support meeting too!

•Ramona is a Stroke / TBI survivor who once managed survivor support meetings and has assisted MNBIF in various capacities. Her brother and daughter have suffered TBIs. They help MNBIF!

•57 volunteers / survivors who have assisted MNBIF throughout the years received numerous items.

•In 2021 MNBIF will be delivering or sharing the Feed the Children items with various places. We will include volunteers / survivors and their families (700 + people) living in the towns of Henderson, Hector, Hutchinson, Fairfax, Lafayette, Lake Crystal, Le Sueur, Madison Lake, North Mankato, Mankato, New Ulm, Nicollet, Redwood Falls, Sleepy Eye, St. Peter, Wells and Winthrop etc.

4H Values

Recently there was a delivery to our door. It was from the Milford 4H Club. It was two large paper bags that contained over 50 items of useful things for the home in each of them. There were puzzles, slipper socks, writing supplies, snacks and candy just to name a few things that were included.

We don’t know who to thank but just want to say that the leadership of this club needs to be commended. With so many negative things in the news it is refreshing to hear when the leadership and young people are doing what we experienced.
