Thank you from New

Pandemic drives increase in visits to Minnesota food shelves

New Ulm Nightmares Haunted House would like to thank all the people that came to our Krampus After Christmas Haunted house on Jan. 30. We hoped they liked seeing Krampus and a very naughty Grinch.

We appricate everyone coming to support a local business while having fun being scared. We loved hearing everyone’s screams and laughter.

Thank you to all the actors and helpers who showed up and worked hard to make the haunted house come alive.

Thank you to all my friends: Rhonda, Andy, Dean, Elizabeth and family and my family: Missy, Craig, RC, Teagan and Charlie who supported me, helped build the sets and acted in the haunt.

Thank you to The Journal for doing stories on the haunt and keeping the community informed about the haunt.

We hope to be open for more fun haunted houses in the future and of course for the 2021 Halloween season with all new scares.

HC/HY thanks Community Ed

I am writing this letter in appreciation of the support that New Ulm Area Community Education has continued to give to Healthy Community/ Healthy Youth of Brown County through its grants program.

This support has enabled our programs to continue empowering all the youth of this area even during the pandemic. The members of SPOTS have not been able to perform in public but there are scenes of theirs now available on NUCAT and YOUtube for students and adults to see. It has allowed Youth Council to help other programs that help kids and do programs of their own like our Haunted Halloween we did on Halloween when we treated 290 children and their parents. And finally it has allowed us to continue bringing special programs to New Ulm like Prairie Fire Children’s Theater, which we plan to have back this summer with “Tom Sawyer” July 5th -10th. There is also our summertime “Night of One-Acts” for high school aged students that will be back this summer. These programs are available to all the youth of the schools in Brown County thanks to this grant.

The support of the New Ulm Area Community Education committee and the School Board of ISD #88 has done all that and we are grateful for it. It has furthered the education of all the youth of New Ulm. Thank you,

Sheldon Rieke, (use header style sheet)
