The addition of a 4 H Home Economics club achievement day to the Brown County Fair is one of this year's features. This work is carried on under the supervision of the University Extension Service and Brown County Farm Bureau.
Many Clubs Exhibit
These clubs in Garment Making, Bread and Canning projects will have exhibits in the main exhibit building. About 35 girls from Leavenworth, Home, Sleepy Eye and New Ulm will exhibit articles and garments which they have made. The girl having the best exhibit will receive a trip to the State Fair. The girls in the canning projects will have each six jars of fruit and vegetables. Two sisters from Mulligan, Lucille and Constance Senesac have already canned 170 quarts this summer and they say they plan to can much more for they enjoy doing it. Twenty girls plan to have exhibits of bread and rolls.
Will Make Bread
On Friday morning at 10 o'clock each girl in the bread project will set one loaf of bread and carry it thru the process and in the late afternoon, the baked loaf will be judged. The girls winning in this contest and having the best record and story will receive trips to the State Fair. This contest is expected to be held in the New Ulm high school building.
Cake Baking Contest
At 3 o'clock Friday Gertrude Eichten and Louise Hamann of New Ulm will give a cake baking demonstration at the 4 H club booth in the exhibit building. Everyone is welcome to attend both this demonstration and the individual baking demonstration at the High School. Mrs. Robt. Dahlberg of Springfield will be judge.
Stage Parade
On Saturday evening is to be the big parade. The Home Economic clubs will joint he livestock clubs in an all club parade. This will be followed by all going to the grand stand in a body as guests of the Fair board.
