Ten Gallons of Beer Also Discovered on the
Premises.-Some Trouble
in Making Arrest.

Deputy Sheriff Wm. H. Gieseke, together with Arthur Dahl and Isidor Gleisner drove out to the John Kastner farm in Albin township, Friday morning and conducted a well-planned raid. It is said when the officers appeared upon the premises that trouble was experienced in making an investigation. Two other parties, in addition to Mr. and Mrs. Kastner, sought to delay the officers in their search.
Drastic measures were resorted to, states the deputy sheriff.
Barrels of Mash.
In a shed near the home a still was discovered, together with five barrels of mash, declared the deputy sheriff. Another barrel of mash was found in the cellar and two or three gallons of moon, together with some ten gallons of beer were also found, according to the officers.
Brought to New Ulm.
Mr. Kastner was brought to New Ulm and Friday afternoon had his hearing before Justice Fred Pfaender. He was bound over to the district court and his bail fixed at $500. His sureties are Anton Kastner, his father, and Mrs. Anna Tauer, his mother-in-law.
