Supt. Andreen has just announced the rules and regulations for the first annual Track and Field meet to be given under the direction of the high school Athletic Association. The meet will be held at the fair grounds in this city Saturday, May 15. Schools in this vicinity who will probably be represented include, New Ulm, Sleepy Eye, Springfield, Fairfax, Gaylord, Morton, Lamberton, Winthrop and Redwood Falls. Judges for the even have not as yet been selected.

Following are the rules and regulations:

1. No contestant will be allowed to enter in more than 2 running event sand the relay. A contestant may enter 3 running events exclusive of the relay and he may enter as many field events as he wishes. No contestant will be allowed to enter both the 440 and 880.

2. Four places will count in each event, including the relay and will be scored as follows: First place, 5; second places, 3; third place, 2; and fourth place, 1.

3. There will be a meeting of the coaches at the High School gym at 1:00 P. M. It is possible that preliminary heats will have to be run in some of the races and if so, it will be necessary to make drawings for positions at this time. Numbers and tickets for contestants and other information will be given out at this meeting.

4. Teams should bring their own discus, javelin, and vaulting pole, but they must be official.

5. The District Athletic Committee will award medals as follows:

First prize in Individual Events–Gold Medal

Second prize in Individual Events-Silver Medal

Third prize in individual events–Bronze medal

First Prize in Relay Race–Banner Medal

The New Um High School Athletic Association will award a cup to the team winning the meet.

6. The National Collegiate Athletic Association rules will govern the meet.

7. The meet will start promptly at 2:30 P. M. at the Fair Grounds. All events will start on time and all entrants must be there at exactly that time if they expect to participate.

8. Each school may enter three men in each event and start two. The Minnesota H. S. eligibility list must accompany the entry list.
