BENEFIT CONCERT FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT

Marvel Trio Assisted

By Miss Snow White Will Present Program.

Miss Snow White, famous mezzo soprano, assisted by the wonderful Marvel Trio of Instrumentalists, violin, piano and cello, will give a concert of semi-classic and popular numbers at the Turner Theatre, New Ulm, Tuesday evening, March 9, eight o’clock under the auspices of the New Ulm Fire Department. The organization feels very fortunate in being able to secure this group of talented musicians for the citizens of this community to hear. These artists have been heard regularly from Twin City radio stations, and have become very popular with radio fans throughout the Northwest.

Last week Miss Snow White and the Marvel Trio were heard, by invitation, over the WHO Station, owned by the Bankers Life, of Des Moines, Iowa, playing and singing to thousands all over the country. Coming radio bookings have been requested from such well known stations as WOC, Davenport,; KOA, Denver; WDAF, Kansas City; and KSD, St. Louis. Miss Snow White has sung with tremendous success thruout the Northwest, appearing at various churches, auditoriums, and conventions. The unusual reception and bursts of applause at these appearances have always made hosts of friends for her, and many return engagements have been demanded.

Miss Snow White was soloist at Minneapolis Park Concerts, and was one of the feature soloists at this year’s Twin City Auto Show, where she received ovation after ovation; and recently she was soloist at two different University of Minnesota concerts. The individual members of the Marvel Trio are each in themselves highly talented artists, all of them having formerly traveled on lyceum and chautauqua circuits. It will be unusually interesting to hear these artists over coming radio concerts after having heard them in person in New Ulm. The Marvel Trio will play collectively and give individual solo numbers. Judging from the scores of favorable press notices received regarding these artists and the comments from the foremost musical critics, we have no hesitancy in recommending and urging our readers to attend this concert.
