Next Sunday, March 7, will be another red letter day for the St. Joseph society of New Ulm, when 45 new members will be initiated. The work will be exemplified by state officers of the Catholic Aid Association of Minnesota, who will also deliver brief addresses, following the initiation. Rev. Andrew J. Rinke of this city will also be one of the speakers. The ceremonies are to be held in the evening, at Holy Trinity school auditorium, and will begin promptly at 7:30 o’clock. The candidates will assemble there, half an hour earlier.
Delightful Program
Following the initiation, a delightful program of vocal and instrumental music will be presented. The opening number will be music by the Young Men’s club of St. Joseph society, after which the Misses Lucy Marti and Mildred Eibner will render a piano duet. Thereupon, a male quartet, composed of Ben. Marti, Joseph Schuster, Peter Simmet and Leo Berg, will sing, followed by a concertina solo by John Wilfahrt. The next number will include a solo, a duet and a quartet rendered by the Misses Bernice Marti, Evelyn Smasal, Lucy Marti, Marie Franta, Hildegard Henle and Mildred Eibner. Leander Kunz will accompany them on the violin. An accordion solo by Master Charles Adam will precede a vocal selection by the St. Joseph society quartet, and Ben. Marti and Peter Simmet will put on the closing number.
Lunch, Music in Basement
After the program, lunch will be served in the dining room of Holy Trinity school, and a musical program will be rendered during the repast.
In addition to members of the local society, those of neighboring societies are cordially invited to attend the initiation and program.
