Organize.-Bank Will Likely Be Opened for Business Next Week.

The Farmers and Merchants State Bank of Lamberton is the name of the new bank to be opened in that village in the near future, probably next week. The certificate of incorporation notice was published in the Northern Light, Lamberton newspaper, last week and this, as required by law The publication being completed yesterday, a meeting of the stockholders may be held today and the organization perfected by the election of directors and officers.
It is understood that C. S. Oetting of St. James will be named as cashier and David Vogt of Butterfield, as assistant cashier. It is possible that the bank will open for business on Monday.
The newly organized bank will occupy the building of the defunct State Bank of Lamberton, which was closed, reorganized and was closed the second time.
The capital stock in the new institution is $20,000 and was placed within a short time, following the decision to organize a new bank. The bank starts with a surplus of $5,000and undivided profits of $2,500.
According to the certificate of incorporation F. H. Retzlaff of this city has 20 shares and H. E. Fay, cashier of the Farmers and Merchants State bank of New Ulm has 10 shares. Other New Ulm parties are understood to be interested in the new banking institution.
The purchase of the building by the new bank will assist in liquidating the old State bank of Lamberton. One of the heavy stockholders of the State bank stat’s that depositors will realize approximately 50 cents upon the dollar after liquidation.
