Eighty Exhibitors Place Birds–Twice as Many Entries as Past Nicollet County Shows.
——–
The annual Nicollet County Poultry show, held recently at Lafayette, was the best ever held in Nicollet county. There were twice as many birds entered at the Lafayette show as was entered in past Nicollet county shows. The interest manifest was phenomenal and considerable credit is due the president and secretary of the association, namely H. C. Fricke, Nicollet and W. H. Krohn, Lafayette. They worked incessantly for the success of the show, and their efforts were fruitful.
740 Birds
Eighty exhibitors entered 740 birds at the Lafayette show, which is a most excellent showing. A total of $673.50 cash prizes were awarded, which speaks well for the event. The show was one of the largest held in southern Minnesota in recent years. A number of New Ulm exhibitors entered birds and speak favorably of the manner in which the event was conducted.
Lafayette poultry fanciers entered over 100 birds. Very few were received from the east end of Nicollet county. By reason of this fact and the unlimited success enjoyed at the recent show. Lafayette will bid for the annual event again.
